Marloth Park is located in the province Mpumalanga

Three elements play a key role in the province of Mpumalanga: Blyde River Canyon, the third deepest canyon in the world, the Sudwala Caves, the oldest caves in the world and the Kruger National Park, undoubtedly the most famous game park in the world. And yet this is the second smallest province of South Africa. Mpumalanga means “the place where the sun rises”.

It may be one of the smallest provinces in South Africa, but its modest size is no longer compensated by a spectacular diversity in the landscape. Mpumalanga houses not only the most famous game park in the world, the third-deepest canyon and the oldest cave system; This region also has developed several wildlife parks with a stunning flora and fauna. Four billion years ago, Antarctica and Madagascar separated themselves from the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga. Thereby remained spectacular, beautiful scenery behind; it rises toward the northeast mountains and ends in a huge slope that steep slopes towards the lower lowveld. The influence of history is evident in Mpumalanga; of the legendary King Solomon and Queen Sheba to the ancient floating villages of Chrissieslake. Rock Art of the earliest African peoples – San and Khoisan – is omnipresent; the gold rush in the 1870s recorded for posterity in the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest, and also beyond the traces are found everywhere. From the winding mountain passes of the region, steep valleys, rivers and pristine forests are magnificent phenomena occur, including the 3000 million year old Sudwala caves, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, Wonder View and Three Rondavels.
Just want to get away from it all? Plenty to do: watching the most amazing birds, hiking, horseback riding and trout fishing. Or something rougher: a safari on the back of an elephant, white-water rafting or abseiling from a waterfall.

Wildlife is the key word in Mpumalanga South Africa because of: Kruger National Park. This wildlife park – one of the biggest parks in the world can boast an unparalleled variety of native animals in their natural environment.

Alternatively you can also choose one of the many other great game parks, where you can enjoy the game with more privacy

Lowveld Botanical Garden, Nelspruit

Lowveld Botanical GardenOne of the main reasons to visit Nelspruit, the Lowveld National Botanical Garden lies just outside of town, a beautiful 159 hectare space dominated by rugged, rocky river scenery, and home to over 600 naturally occurring plant species, and a further 2000 that have been introduced to the garden. Mac Mac Falls,Mpumalanga A national monument…and a spectacular waterfall Mac Mac Falls, Mpumalangamac-mac-falls-mpumalanga

South Africa boasts a unique cluster of lovely waterfalls in the stunningly scenic province of Mpumalanga. One of the most dramatic is the 70m Mac Mac falls named for the feisty Scottish miners who panned for gold here in the 1870s gold rush. Did you know? The Mac Mac Falls are 65m in height. The Mac Mac Falls – a national monument – belong to a cluster of lovely waterfalls in Mpumalanga’s Sabie area, on the stunningly scenic Panorama Route. Its twin falls plunge dramatically 70km into the gorge below as rainbows dance over the white spray. Although the Mac Mac Falls are named for the Scottish miners who sought their fortune by panning for gold in the here during the heady days of the 1870s gold rush, they themselves didn’t come up with the name. Apparently President Thomas Burger was visiting the area in 1873 and was struck by how many of the miners’ names began with ‘Mac’. On the spot, he named the area Mac Mac – a name that has survived to this day. You’ll find the name on many of the nearby tombstones. more>>>>>>>

EA trip to Kaapsehoop

is a humble break from the city crammed with charming scenery, creative people and attractions that display exactly what this down to earth community is all about. Kaapsehoop is a small town and if you are not looking for it, you could easily drive past without noticing. But making a stop in Kaapsehoop is definitely worth your while! Here’s why: Kaapsehoop was established in 1882 with the discovery of gold in surrounding streams. Today the gold has been replaced by green gold of commercial forests which safely holds the ghost like town in its midst. Kaapsehoop is well known for its magnificent bird life that is truly unique to the area and wild horses which roam freely around town, welcoming visitors. The climate is ideal for a day trip with crisp winters and moderate summers. It is recommended to take a warm jacket with you as it may get a little chilly in the late afternoon.
