About “Sadadu”

Our house is named Sadadu and is situated in Marloth Park South Africa. Marloth Park is a Holliday Township and Wildlife Conservatory near the border of Mozambique. The Crocodile River is the border between the Kruger Park and this unique township. It is in the province of Mpumalanga and about one hour drive from its capital Nelspruit and 4, 5 hours from Johannesburg National Airport. Swaziland is some 50 km from our house and to the border of Mozambique it is 20 km. From there the Indian Ocean is about 100 km. There is a Sub-Tropical climate and the seasons are opposite of the U.S.A and Europe The security of our house is provided by Field Security. They also respond on the personal alarm button, if pressed, in minutes.

Sadadu is a self-catering house bordering the Kruger National Park offering two bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms and a second floor with two single beds enabling the house to accommodate a total of six people. There is a fully equipped kitchen, an outside braai area and a 3×3 filtered splash pool.

After an active day you can relax on the patio or at the braai area and sip on a cold drink while watching game such as zebra and wildebeest, kudu and many more which roam freely in the park and often visit the house.

Marloth Park is also a bird watcher’s paradise with over 350 species listed here. Guests can enjoy 14 kilometres of walking trails along the Crocodile River, where you can spot the Big 5. We are 100 meters away from the fence of the Lion Spruit game reserve, so close that you will hear the Lions roar at night. We can arrange open-vehicle safaris and bird walks are available on Saturday mornings. In Marloth Park you will find two shopping centres, a petrol station, four restaurants and there is an public swimming pool.
Sadadu is the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area or just relax and enjoy the nature.

NOTICE❗️ Dear Marloth Park visitors. Being in the privileged position to be situated right next to the majestic Kruger National Park is nothing short of magical, however, it also means that residents and visitors alike, need to be extra vigilant at all times. Walking around early mornings before the sun is high enough to light the sky, and late afternoons when the sun is on its way down, is not advisable at all as we encounter predators from time to time here in Marloth Park. During the winter months, the sun sets fairly early, and it happens in the blink of an eye, so please don’t underestimate how quickly it can get pitch black. As I am writing this, I can hear the roar of a lion, not too far from where I am. Is the lion in Marloth Park? I don’t know.😳It might as well be. It is vital to note that Lions cross the fences between Marloth Park and the Kruger more often than we realize, and they might even be walking around in Marloth Park undetected!🤗 Don’t wait for a “predator warning” to be cautious. Always treat your surroundings as if there could be a dangerous predator lurking about. We have several leopards roaming around in Marloth, and just because we don’t see them every day does not mean they are not here. Please be safe. Walking around in Marloth Park between sunset and sunrise is NOT PERMITTED. This applies to everyone, children, adults, elderly, joggers, cyclists, and the like. Be smart. Be safe.
